Fall Color Cruises
The Blue Moon will run our Fall Color Cruises for four weekends in October. We will cruise through the Tennessee River Gorge to and
from Hale’s Bar Marina, a total of 34 miles.
The migrating Sandhill Cranes arrive daily in great numbers at the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge in the late fall and winter. Whooping cranes also make a showing. Led by the Operation Migration ultralights, last year's group of 17 chicks left Wisconsin on Oct. 13 arrvied at Hiwassee Island in December, due to many weather delays.

Fall Color Cruises in the TN River Gorge
Enjoy the colorful breath-taking beauty of the 27,000 acre canyon carved
out by 26 miles of the Tennessee River over thousands of years. It is
the fourth largest river canyon east of the Mississippi and the only large
river canyon bordering a mid-size city.
The diverse landscape of the gorge provides habitats for more than a thousand varieties of plants, ferns, trees, grasses and flowers as well as a rich wildlife population. Nearly 200 different species of birds inhabit "Tennessee's Grand Canyon."
